Ikaalinen Spa has probably the most comprehensive range of aqua and spa programmes and other activities in Finland. There are activities to suit everyone, individually and in classes, independently undertaken or guided by staff. Many of the activities are free to guests, and the choice is vast various water activities, aerobics, gym classes, mountain biking, safaris, skating and skateboarding, rowing, canoeing, skiing... choose whatever is right for you! Our sports and activities are perfectly complemented by our luxurious health and beauty treatments look after yourself and rest after a tiring, active day by treating yourself to a massage, herbal bath, heat treatment or makeover! Water Tropic Pool Department
Ikaalinen Spa guests come to relax, be refreshed and enjoy the water games, regardless of age! Our tropical pool is pleasantly warm all year round, with an average temperature of 30 degrees. The spa offers a variety of pools for everybody's enjoyment, including a counter-current pool and a number of jacuzzis and water massage points. The heated outdoor pool with its geysers is a particular favourite in the winter, an unforgettable experience. Naturally, our pool department has an impressive water slide. The safe, 58 metre long water chute is a fast, exciting ride for thrill-seekers of every size and age. The fully licensed Tropical Bar, located in the pool department, offers beverages and snacks ideal for a nice cold beer after the sauna!
Saunas
When it comes to saunas, there is plenty of choice at Ikaalinen Spa. For those who appreciate the traditional Finnish sauna there are no less than nine saunas. For a softer heat and gentle steam, try our two steam saunas. Our cosy beach saunas are ideal for a refreshing dip in the lake straight from the sauna benches. The enriching experience of our genuine smoke sauna is a unique sensation, a rare treat for foreign visitors and Finns alike. Our Club and Smoke Saunas are available all year round, and offer a more informal alternative for holding meetings and functions. Catering can be arranged, and the smoke sauna is fully licensed.
Safaris
* Snowmobile SafarisTake a trip across the winter landscape on a snowmobile! After an introduction to the workings of the snowmobile, you get to drive one along various tracks on our private land. The safari groups take a break at a hut, where refreshments and a snack are served, and hot coffee is prepared over an open fire. The safari takes around 2 hours, including the break. Snowmobile safaris are also suitable for beginners. * Safaris on All-Terrain Vehicles (Quad Bikes)An all year round safari that actually improves as the weather gets worse! There are many routes available for all to enjoy. An ATV safari is perfect for those without earlier driving experience, as well as for the more advanced participants looking for a challenging adventure. During the break, snacks and hot coffee prepared over an open fire are served. The safari takes around 2 hours, including the break. * Motorboat SafarisThe motorboat safari is a speedy safari that takes in the beautiful landscape of Ky vi Lake. Once equipped with the proper outfit, instructions are given as participants are introduced to their boats. The route goes through the narrow passage of Uuraslahti, and a break including a snack and hot coffee is taken on shore. A more substantial meal is also available on request. After the break, the boats head back to the spa. * Combination SafarisCombination safaris are a great way to experience more, within the same time limits. From spring to autumn the safaris combine all-terrain vehicles and motorboats, with snowmobiles replacing the motorboats in winter time. Once equipped, half of the group will set out in the motorboats (or snowmobiles) and the other half on ATVs. The two routes converge at the hut for a break and a snack, after which the two groups swap vehicles and head back to the spa. The minimum group size is 12 people. * Canoeing SafarisThe canoeing safari is an amazing nature experience on the beautiful Jyllinjoki River. The departure point is a 15 minute drive from the spa. After initial instruction participants canoe down the river, where part of the journey takes them through a canyon lined with dense forest. Not far from civilization, yet totally out in the wild! During the break, hot coffee is prepared over a campfire and snacks are served. * Riding safarisEnjoy horsepower! Choose from a wide range of alternatives, from hand-led riding to horseback safaris, along with several hours of programme. Theses Safari can also be themed, such as dressing up riders in cowboy gear. - Ask for further details! * Horse Riding SafarisEnjoy real horsepower! Choose from a variety of options, from hand-led riding to long treks, and up to several hours of programme. These safaris can also be themed, such as dressing up riders in cowboy gear. Ask us for further details! * Working Horse Experience Teaching horse control skills takes place at nearby stables. Participants are given the opportunity to ride and drive carts pulled by heavy working horses. During the break the everyday lives of lumberjacks and the fascinating world of the lumber camps are explored. After coffee and a horseman's snack, you will return to the stables, and then to the spa. The duration of this safari is approximately 3-4 hours. * Pheasant Hunting Safaris (1.9. - 28.2.) The Ikaalinen Spa Physical Therapy Centre offers a wide range of rehabilitation services, both for those who are still working and for those who have left their working lives behind them. Rehabilitation services can be arranged for individuals and groups. Our professional staff consists of doctors, psychologists, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, occupational health nurses, nurses and physical exercise instructors. This ensures that every individual and group receives suitable treatment, tailored to their needs. Furthermore, our masseurs and beauticians provide relaxing and pampering treatments to complement any programme. Shape-up and TYKY (maintaining working ability) programmes are an important part of our services. We arrange physical rehabilitation services for thousands of people annually, both people of working age and senior citizens. The aim of our work is to improve our clients' working ability and/or their condition, as well as to motivate them to look after their health and improve their quality of life. People of working age usually apply for physical rehabilitation in conjunction with their GP and KELA (The Social Insurance Institution of Finland). Part of the rehabilitation process requires co-operation with occupational health care services - your local occupational health care unit will be happy to advise you in these matters.
