A waterfall tumbles over a mosaic tile mural of dolphins, its gentle splash a soothing soundtrack for relaxing by the freshwater pool with a drink from the bar. Further relaxation may be found seaside, lulled by the surf, swaying in a hammock beneath the shade of a coconut palm. Either choice would be a mellow, lowkey counterpoint to a high-energy day. Belize is well known for its excellent dive/snorkel sites with the second largest Barrier Reef in the world with 185 miles of sea coral and reef to explore just off the coastline. Parrot Cove Resort shares the extensive diving facilities of nearby Hamanasi Resort, a PADI certified facility. Worldclass fishing can also be found in Belize waters including fly fishing the flats for permit, fishing the warm tropical waters with a healthy population of bone fish, barracuda, grouper and snapper. In addition to sea fishing, fresh water river fishing for Tarpon is also available. Take a hike or horseback ride into the rain forest and jungles or up the Maya Mountains, visit a Maya ruin, do some bird watching, cave tubing or take a wildlife trip up the Sittee River by boat. The Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary (including Jaguar Preserve) and the Mayflower Waterfall and Ruins are nearby. We can even pack you a box lunch to take with you on full day tours if needed. The on-site restaurant has been expanded and now is the only air-conditioned restaurant in the Hopkins Beach area. We are the only resort in the area that offers the local pibil dish.
