La Veta Inn

The La Veta Inn is a beautifully remodelled hotel located in the heart of the Sangre De Cristo mountains and at the foot of the Spanish Peaks. Outdoor activities abound in this marvellous climate. At 7 000 feet above sea level and with 300 sunny days per year La Veta attracts visitors of all kinds but all with one thing in common enjoyment of the outdoors. The Inn is located just of the Highway of Legends a stretch of 50 miles that meander through the Cuchara Valley passing dike rock walls that seem to have grown out of the ground and stand hundreds of feet high. This glorious environment has attracted artists of all kinds that live here year-round. In 2010 the inn was remodelled with the help of 18 local artists. The wildlife surrounding the town includes black bear elk wild turkey mountain lions and of course deer which stroll through town morning noon and night. Golf is a big attraction in La Veta as Grandote Golf Course has been ranked by Golf Digest as one of the finest public courses in the country and is located just 0. 2 miles from the inn.
