Of course- this is no coincidence. In days gone past- secure roads led to the second oldest hotel in Switzerland. Today it is our unique atmosphere and outstanding quality that is so much appreciated by our regular returning guests. A visit to our hotel is a rewarding experience. Referred to as an inn as far back as 1418- the hotel was completely rebuilt in the early classical style in 1772 and has since maintained its place in one of the most beautiful and complete baroque surroundings in Europe. This is the place where history was made and is still being made. Our collection of antiques is proof of our past. The -Krone- is the second oldest hotel in Switzerland and situated in the pedestrian zone on the most prominent town square in the heart of Solothurn. The 42 rooms of the 4 star luxury hotel are kept in authentic Louis XV or Biedermeier style- yet equipped with all modern amenities. Every room has its own individual character and offers a breathtaking view over Solothurns picturesque lanes and the impressive St. Urs Cathedral. Tradition and distinctions are of course valued but we are also geared to meet the high expectations of todays society.
