Поэтому здесь так много зеленых парков и так мало небоскребов. Вашингтон изначально строился как столица, что и определило его облик: величественные здания Капитолия и Белого Дома, выразительные Мемориалы Авраама Линкольна и Томаса Джефферсона... Туристическая индустрия также играет немаловажную роль - ежегодно сюда приезжают до 18 тысяч посетителей.
