The Royal Sportsman has a fine reputation as a family owned and managed Hotel with a strong Mediterranean ethos in an informal yet professional environment. Customers regularly describe the family atmosphere as being home from home combining comfort, warmth and Welsh hospitality. It is family friendly, from babies to teenagers, to stay in and also eat. You can also include family pets in your stay. The hotel has ensuite rooms on three floors. For those who have difficulty in walking or are disabled there are ground floor rooms. These adjoin the main building by a very short covered walkway. All public facilities are also on the ground floor. The hotel is non smoking however smoking is allowed in the bar area.

It is open for breakfast, lunch during the week from April to October, Sunday Lunch throughout the year and A la Carte meals daily in the evening, all served in comfortable surroundings Breakfast includes: cereals, fruit juices, fruit segments, yoghurts, croissants, toast, rolls, tea/coffee followed by traditional or vegetarian meal Lorenzo's Coffee Lounge Adjoining Peppino's restaurant is Lorenzo's coffee lounge, opened in February 2006, the only one of its type in Porthmadog. From Cardiff Cardiff: A470 North to Porthmadog Follow road to Porthmadog along High Street with shops to roundabout Go over roundabout and Hotel is 15 yards or so on RHS with private garage to rear. From London Take M40 from London north to end of motorway south of Birmingham Take M42 West towards M5 North Take M5 north to M6 North to M54, marked North Wales. At end of M54 at Shrewsbury, take A5 North past Llangollen & Corwen About 5 miles north of Corwen, turn left on A494 to Bala - 8 miles On entering Bala, cross river bridge and turn right to Porthmadog on A 4212 Follow road to Porthmadog along High Street with shops to roundabout. Go over roundabout and Hotel is 15 yards or so on RHS with private garage to rear.
