Allegro Hotel Tihany Centrum Tihany

The 4 star Allegro hotel is located in the centre of Tihany one of the oldest villages in Hungary. Built on the peninsular on the north side of Lake Balaton it is famous for its Benedictine Abbey founded in the 11th century. The hotel offers 14 very comfortable en-suite double rooms and 1 family suite which are air-conditioned and nicely decorated. Room amenities include mini bar; safe; TV; direct phone and bathroom with shower and hairdryer. For those wanting to relax the Allegro Hotel offers a swimming pool; sauna and small gymnasium as well as 2 sundecks ideal for reading a good book or simply enjoying a glass of wine. These roof gardens are floodlit at night. The village is on our doorstep and buses can take you to nearby Balatonfured which has a large market. We offer a traditional European breakfast but do not serve lunch or dinner. However the friendly bar is open most of the day from coffee time through to nightcaps. It may be of interest that some of the wines served are from the Allegros own vineyard and wine cellar. A horse and carriage may be arranged to take you up there for an enjoyable picnic or a wine tasting while appreciating the splendid view over the Inner Lake. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of Hungarian restaurants just a short walk away. A few minutes drive will take you to The Club Tihany with its excellent spa; masseurs and beauticians. A popular sailing club can be found there and just round the corner is Cafe Tihany a superb Italian restaurant overlooking the Lake. Sporting guests can enjoy golf; sailing; riding; fishing and also hire bicycles to explore the countryside. The hotel has private parking suitable for 5 cars.
