Yad Hashmona

Yad HaShmona Guest-House is nestled in the Jerusalem Hills surrounded by its serene and pastoral scenery only ten minutes away from Jerusalem and a half hour drive from Tel Aviv. Our Guest -House provides a unique sensual experience to its visitors a vast greening hilly landscape as well as the Israeli coastal plain far from the meddling crowd; the fragrances of mountain air as clear as wine and a variety of flavors out of Yad HaShmona restaurant. Our guest -house units are built out of wood imported from Finland with the famous Finnish first class building quality. The wooden style building is rare in the Jerusalem area and it creates a specially calm and welcoming atmosphere. In our Guest- House there are 36 such wooden en suite units each with a bath a television set an air condition system and a coffee/tea corner with a small fridge which makes it an unforgettable experience. In addition there are twelve stone-built simpler types of rooms each suited 2 adults or 3 children. These air conditioned rooms have a shower and a coffee/tea corner with a fridge. A fascinating Biblical Garden was constructed on the site displaying ancient technology of wine and oil compressing as well as plants from biblical times. Guided tours of the Biblical Garden are available by reservation in advance. The 150-seat restaurant offers special Israeli meals as well as rich and delicious brunch on Fridays also by earlier reservation. Also music evenings and special events are an option. The original Yad HaShmona cooperative settlement was founded by eight Christian volunteers who arrived from Finland to pursue their Biblical beliefs and help the Jewish people to establish themselves in their old new homeland. In the course of time the original settlers were joined by local Israelis who shared the same belief in the New as well as the Old Testament
