The Grand Lakefront Resort Club/Holly Bluff Marina offers a unique Florida vacation experience. Get back to nature and cruise the St. Johns River aboard a modern fully-equipped and air conditioned houseboat. The St. Johns River was the first tourist attraction in Florida. Although the steamboats that plied its waters in the 1800s have disappeared, the beauty and mystique of the river remain. Experience the great St. Johns River and see live alligators basking in their natural habitat. Explore nearby warm water springs where the endangered Manatee spend winters in the crystal clear waters. Great Blue Heron, Egrets, Eagles and Ospreys are all common sights. Orlando and Disney World are only 60 miles away. Minimum age required at check-in is 21. Check-in at the office for your houseboat assignment. An orientation lesson will be required before taking the boat out. It will take about an hour. You will be instructed in operation of the vessel, the generator, and the marine radio as well as areas to boat and those to avoid. The staff will meet you to take the boat out of the slip and return it to ensure your safety. Office hours are from 8am-6pm. There is departure cleaning only. Check-in is 3pm at the office for your houseboat assignment. Check-out is 9am. An orientation lesson is required. You will be instructed in operation of the vessel, the generator, and the marine radio as well as areas to boat and those to avoid. Please call if you will arrive late. Instructions will be left for you on the office door. The office closes at 5pm. You will not be able to take the houseboat out until the next day after the orientation lesson, but you will have access to the vessel in the slip. DeLand is the county seat as well as a college town, with the campus of Stetson University classified as a National Historic District. The downtown, lined with notable gift shops and restaurants, has been recognized as a national Mainstreet program.
