The Garda lake and the mountain. Malcesine, on the easter bank of Garda Lake, still preserves evidences of its medieval origins; it developped gradually around the Scaligero Castle (XVI c.) and the historical Palace of Capitani. If you love activity holidays here you will find many opportunities: sailing, water-skiing, tennis, miniature golf, windsurfing, paragliding and mountain bike tracks, ... The climate is always mild and, especially in out of season periods, you can have wanderful walks up the hills or the slopes of mountains, through olive groves and typical mediterranean vegetation. A cable-way connects Malcesine to Monte Baldo with a 15 min 'flight'; Monte Baldo is famous as the 'Botanical Gardens of Italy' and in winter, covered with snow, offers splendid and panoramic skiing trails.
