Front desk is open from 3 30 PM to 6 PM. Children 2 and younger stay free. The Iron Corbel Inn is a Second Empire Style house located in the heart of downtown Historic Hollidaysburg. The original house was built in the early 1800s however the house you see today was not completed until the mid-1800s. The third floor mansard roof was added sometime in the 1880s. A remarkable home built by the Watsons and later owned by the McLanahan family the house has retained much of its original detail and beautiful facade.
Owned by innkeeper Heather Heitmueller, the Inn is named for two architectural details that can be viewed on the exterior of the house. The first one is the iron columns, each decorated with ladies faces that support the porch. The second is the brackets, also known as corbels, that support the mansard roof line of the third floor. The Bed and Breakfast is a pleasant accommodation for travelers during their visit to Blair County. Marble Mantels, converted gas, crystal chandeliers, period furnishings and artwork create an elegant, yet cozy front Parlor and Dining Room. The Great Room, with its beautiful stained glass window seat, large fireplace, mirrors and piano give guests the chance to experience what it would have been like to live in such a magnificent home. The front porch and a casual living room provide guests with comfortable and less formal spaces to spend their time at the Iron Corbel Inn. Upstairs the house has four tastefully decorated bedrooms all with private baths and a two-room suite with a shared bath.
Guests at the Iron Corbel Inn can enjoy the quaintness of small town Hollidaysburg. The sidewalks of the residential town are lined with beautiful old Victorian houses, many very well preserved. Just blocks from the center of town which offers private shops, and a short drive to Altoona and many area attractions, our home is the perfect place for a relaxing weekend away or comfortable place for business travelers.
