The Shorecrest Bed and Breakfast, surrounded by the waters of the Long Island Sound and an inlet of Shelter Bay, sits atop a beautifully landscaped acre of perennial flower gardens with hammock, fish ponds and lounge chairs to relax in overlooking both. Its two private beaches, one on the Long Island Sound and the other on the inlet are available to guests. The beach on the largest inlet on the North Fork, the Arshamomoque is a great spot to launch kayaks, canoes or paddle boards. The Long Island Sound beach is less than 500 feet from the Inn, accessed by a private path and a favorite spot to watch the sunset, relaxing in Shorecrests own Adirondack chairs with a bottle of wine. Built in the mid 1800s as a summer home for a wealthy family, the Inn retains all the original grandeur and charm of those days with 10 foot ceilings, detailed moldings and woodwork and room height windows framing views of sky and sea. The Innkeepers lifetime collection of antique furniture and textiles fits right in and guests enjoy a four course gourmet breakfast in the elegant dining room in Victorian style surrounded by period antiques, Venetian glass, fine art and vintage china and silver. The house has been lovingly restored over the last five years, with updated private baths in each of the five rooms, central air-conditioning throughout, an open fire in the welcoming lounge for chilly nights, flat screen TVs, Premium Cable and high speed Internet. Only the finest linens and mattresses are used and everything is done to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of our guests.
