Elite Stadshotellet Vasteras

The Elite Stadshotellet is a high-class hotel with a long history. It was built in 1907 and since that time has been a central meeting place in Vasteras. We offer you a stay in a traditional atmosphere that is combined with modern technology and comfort, which reflects quality and ambience. In 1898, plans were made for a town hall in Vasteras. It was to include a hotel, restaurant, hair salon, liquor store, and banquet hall. After five years of disputes and indecisiveness it was finally completed in 1907. The architect, Erik Hahr, created an Art Nouveau building, which today, is counted among the most beautiful in Sweden. A stable and an arrack distillery were built in the backyard. This was also designed by Hahr. Shortly after the opening, the hotel changed its name to Stadshotellet. It offered 40 rooms, large dining rooms, a banquet hall and a liquor store. This was the first building in Vasteras with modern bathrooms, an immense luxury by that time. Since 1998 Elite hotels has operated the hotel In the center of Vasteras, in one of Sweden's most beautiful Art Nouveau buildings, you will find the Elite Stadshotellet.
