Frantoio

This vast property is almost a small town in itself, comprised of ancient farmhouses, a manor house and a small parish church, all of which have been recently restored. The house is situated along the Sieve valley, in an area known as the Mugello. The area has been described as a wonderland, with its numerous, lively hill towns, like Vicchio, Scarperia and Borgo San Lorenzo, its famous villas, such as Villa Cafaggiolo, and its imposing castles, like Castello del Trebbio. The homes overlook a vast, stunningly beautiful valley and a serene lake. Six of the apartments within the property are on offer, each in a different house on the grounds. Behind the cluster of homes, on a grassy, terraced slope with a breathtaking panoramic view, is a beautiful swimming pool open from May through October. Near the swimming pool, there is a play area with a slide, a swing and other games for children. Other shared amenities include table-tennis and a barbecue. Behind the swimming pool there is a large a wooded area that is ideal for relaxing strolls. Upon request, guests can hire a jeep and a driver for up to six people for excursions around the property. During daylight hours only, guests can also rent a small delightfully rustic wooden cottage with a fireplace, a dining room and a corner kitchen, tucked in the woods about a mile away, for 26 Euro per day. There is a lake on the property, and fishing rods are available for rent, as are mountain bikes, for 3 euro per hour or euro 8 per half-day. There is a community laundry facility. Products from the farm, such as wine and olive oil, are for sale, and wine tastings at the property wine cellars can be arranged. Faxes and email can be sent in the office on the farm. There is parking available on the premises. A cleaning fee of euro 12 and a deposit of euro 300 are required at check-in, to be paid in cash only. Hot water, heating and electricity charges are based upon usage and paid at the time of check-out. No after hours check-in
