Although part of Dumfries and Galloway in south-west Scotland, the hotel remains easily accessible from the motorway. The Days Inn Gretna Green is the ideal base for exploring the beautiful Lake District and the Scottish Borders. Nearby there is an array of interesting shops, museums and markets to visit. In little under an hour you will find yourself in the heart of all England, Hexham, a traditional market town which was home to Hadrian and the Roman Empire. The Lake District is a pleasant day trip away, with excursions possible by cruise boat and steam train. The Scottish Borders country towns of Jedburgh and Melrose are close by with Glasgow and Edinburgh about an hour away, making it a suprisingly convenient sightseeing and shopping trip not to be missed. The city of Newcastle upon Tyne and County Durham are also approximately 1 hour away from the hotel. The Days Inn Gretna Green is an ideal place to unwind from every day stresses. There are 64 luxuriously appointed bedrooms all fully en-suite with modern facilities and 4 rooms specially adapted for disabled use. Following customer request, new 21-inch teletext TV's have now been installed and summer 2005 saw 'Pay Movies' being available to our guests, including all the latest blockbusters (and some adult rated films too). The hotel also boasts Executive rooms designed for our business guests. The hotel has been recommended in the AA PET FRIENDLY PLACES TO STAY guide for the past 2 years, so there is no need to leave your pets behind - Please advise when making your booking if you will be bringing your pet. The hotel is also AA approved. Payment will be taken ON ARRIVAL. Pets are welcome and the hotel is approved by both the AA and the AA Pet Friendly guide. Please inform us beforehand if you are bringing a pet (you will generally be allocated a non-smoking room). Pets NOT allowed in Executive rooms. A selection of smoking & non smoking rooms are available along with a non smoking policy in all public areas.
