Built next to a 17th century Inn on the banks of the Teign estuary, the hotel offers a modern comfortable atmosphere whether your stay is for business or pleasure. Also china clay was mined locally and shipped out via the Hackney Canal. The river was a hive of activity with the Lightermen and Barge?s working the estuary and canals. The ruins of their cottages are still to be seen on the banks of the river along from the Inn. We are perfectly situated as a base to explore the delights of Devon, from the towering red sandstone cliffs and sheltered sandy coves with beautiful bays along the coastline to the contrast of the wild and rugged terrain of Dartmoor.
