The Hotel Torre S. Angelo is a 4 star deluxe property. It became a Hotel in 1962 but the building is an old castle that goes back to the Medieval Age. It was erected in 600 AD on the ruins of Catullo*s Villa, a famous Roman poet. From 600 to 1700 it was converted into a Monastery of the Olivetani monks, religious warriors which defended the town of Tivoli. In 1700 the Princes of Massimo established themselves here and the Torre S. Angelo became their summer residence. In 1962 they transformed the building into a Hotel and in 1994 it was completely restructured. The Hotel is situated 800 meters from Tivoli*s historical center and with its privileged position, it dominates the town and from Aniene*s countryside to Rome. It has 70 hectares of Private Park where one can make excursions and go horseback riding. Tivoli also offers visits to its famous Villas: Villa D*Este with its wonderful fountains. The Emperor Adriano*s Villa famous for the magnificence of its architecture (monumental building, ruins, theatres and temples). Many ancient buildings from the Roman and Medieval Ages can still be seen today. Rome is only 30 minutes away so that Tivoli can be a sort of a *diving board* for the visit of the eternal city which is a world aim. Our Hotel has a total of 35 rooms (24 standard rooms, 6 junior suites, 4 suites and 1 for disabled persons). All the rooms are equipped with a Jacuzzi, mini bar, air conditioning, safe, telephone, and a satellite TV. Available to guests are two restaurant rooms, 1 conference hall equipped for video conference, a bar, an open-air cloister usable also for the restaurant service, swimming-pool, park, parking, on request riding excursions, and a golf course located about 20 minutes from the Hotel. In addition to being a very elegant Hotel, you can host any kind of ceremony in the restaurant and taste international or regional dishes.
