Hostal Loreto is a former nunnery situated under the castle walls in the heart of the medieval centre of the old city of the Mediterranean port of Denia. The hotel is close to many good pubs, restaurants and shops and there is also a lively restaurant and cafe in the hostal. Denia is the main port for ferry services to Ibiza and the Balearics (Majorca and Menorca) and is about 100 motorway kilometres from the airports of Alicante and Valencia, and a little further from Murcia. The ferry port and the train station are both a pleasant 10 minute walk from the hotel and the bus station can be reached in less than five minutes. The hostal was formerly a nunnery and was built by the Marquis del Campo about 450 years ago. It is rumoured that there is a secret tunnel to the castle on the hill top behind the hostal. The hostal is 800 metres from the beach and has 43 recently renovated rooms all with air-conditioning, ceiling fans and en-suite bathrooms. There are activities to suit everyone in and around Denia including hill walking, horse riding, tennis, golf, sailing, scuba diving, wind surfing, kite surfing, jet skiing, mountain biking, and climbing. However most people come just to enjoy the chiringuitos (beach bars) and the 20 kilometres of beautiful beaches! Cot free of charge but linen is 5 euros a Day. Price includes tax. Breakfast not included. Hotel parking is between 7 to 10 euros for day depending on season
