His home was built in the Greek Revival tradition, in anticipation of his son Isaacs wedding to Phoebe Bull in 1850. The Wheeler home was rated the most complete farm-house in the County, by the Orange County Agricultural Society, shortly thereafter. This antebellum home, with a hint of southern luxury, overlooks a lovely 200 acre farm. Its furnishings of fine nineteenth century antiques creates an aura of luxury that moves smoothly through the double parlors, dining room and guest rooms. Three of these four romantic rooms have working fireplaces. Each of these spacious, light filled rooms, has its own private bath. Awaken to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and enjoy a full breakfast, including home baked goods, served in the formal dining room.While visiting historic Warwick, guests can enjoy skiing, horseback riding, hiking or golf. The area also features antique shops, the sugar loaf craft village, a performing arts center offering theater, dance and concerts, N.Y.S. Renaissance Festival, Museum Village and the Warwick Center.
