 В 1970х Канкун был небольшой рыбацкой деревушкой. Спустя всего лишь 30 лет он превратился в курорт международного значения с населением 500.000 человек и еще большим количеством туристов, ежегодно сюда приезжающих.Большинство магазинов, банков, государственных учреждений и отелей Канкуна располагается в деловой части города. Сам город разместился на полуострове, по виду напоминающем песчаную косу, две стороны которой и соединяют его с материком. Туристы приезжают в Канкун, чтобы насладиться его пляжами, чистой водой и солнцем. Невероятно большой выбор баров, клубов и ресторанов понравится всем любителям пляжных развлечений. В самом городе не так много исторических достопримечательностей, но, проделав небольшой путь отсюда, Вы сможете осмотреть памятники архитектуры цивилизации Майя.
