Maple Leaf Motel

The southeast quarter of the Adirondacks is the prime tourist destination of New York State. Right in the center of it all is Schroon Lake and the Maple Leaf Motel. From our motel it is only a 45 minute drive north to Lake Placid Olympic Village. A 20 minute drive east to Historic Fort Ticonderoga. A 30 minute drive south to scenic Lake George and Six Flags/Great Escape Amusement Park or a beautiful hour drive to Blue Mountain Lake and the Adirondack Museum. Natural attractions are all around us. You can visit the Natural Stone Bridges and Caves the awe-inspiring Ausable Chasm the High Falls Gorge Whiteface Mountain and many other natural attractions with a short drive of 15 minutes to an hour. Looking for backpacking hiking snowshoeing or cross country skiing Trail heads into Pharaoh Mountain Wilderness Mount Severance and Hoffman Notch Wilderness are all within 5 or 10 minutes Fishing The streams and rivers around Schroon Lake are great for fly fishing. Schroon Lake is well stocked with small and largemouth bass lake trout salmon perch and pike. If you like ice fishing Schroon Lake and Paradox Lake are two of the best. Try our annual Ice Fishing Tournament on the first weekend of March. Hunting The state land around Schroon Lake is great for deer black bear turkey and rabbit. North Woods Wilderness Guide Service and Garys Guide and Charter Service are two of the finest hunting and fishing guide services in the state. Snowmobiling Our local snowmobile club is very active and does a great job of grooming the many miles of trails in the area. With the connecting trail system its possible to get all the way west to Indian Lake and Old Forge or even north to the Canadian border by snowmobile. Boating We have a free public boat launch only one mile from the motel and plenty of parking in our lot for your trailer. If you need to rent a boat there is a marina only a 1/4 mile from the motel
