It took considerable daring to convert a prison dating back to 1719 into a prestigious hotel- but Jonnie and Therese Boer have succeeded in creating a very special atmosphere in the heart of the Hanseatic city of Zwolle. Each of the nine rooms and 10 suites crafted from the old cells features a sophisticated design. Enjoy an evening full of culinary adventures in Restaurant Librijes Zusje where the kitchen is inspired by the philosophy of Grand Chef Jonnie Boer. In the spring and summer the butlers take guests to the Restaurant De Librije on one of the little boats named after the children of Jonnie and Therese- Jimmie and Isabelle. Like the hotel- this 16th century former convent is full of surprises. Jonnie Boer is definitely a free-wheeling chef and his imagination is truly unfettered.
