ARENAL VOLCANO Daily tour takes you to the active side of Arenal where you can observe tumbling lava rocks and spewing gases. FOREST CANOPY TOUR The adventure begins when you arrive to the stables and the guides give you an idea of your tour, then you get part of the equipment and you horseback ride for approximately 40 minutes.You cannot help but be overwhelmed by the beauty as you glide through the forest on the ten cables. Our shortest cable is 195 ft /60 mts/ and our longest is 1300 ft /400 mts/ with a view to waterfalls in its cables. At the end of the tour we visit the village of the Maleku indians. How to get:
San Jose Intl Airport/SJO/.................. 75km Catch domestic flight from San Jose airport SJO. Nature Air has daily flights to La Fortuna from the Tobias Bolanos International Airport in Pavas a short distance from downtown San Jose. The flight takes 30 minutes and allows glimpses of the Arenal volcano. From the airport, head to the WEST, the PAN AMERICAN road, with a lot of traffic. After 45-60 min, leave the highway for SAN RAMON. You can cross the town straight on, and at the end of the main street, turn left, and at the traffic lights there turn to the right, heading North. You pass the Hospital of San Ramon, and from now on you have a quiet mountain road with nearly no traffic. It takes about 45 min from San Ramon to BAJO RODRIGUEZ. At the free toll house, turn to the right, after 5 miles you pass two special bridges, You are in SANTA CLARA now. At the soccer field turn to the LEFT. A fine road August 2007 will lead you to LA FORTUNA. Be aware, there are some dangerous curves of 90 degrees. There you will find the resort.
