Hotel Skanderborghus

Hotel Skanderborghus has 45 recently renovated and individually furnished rooms. All the rooms have private toilet - shower - flat-screen TV and a view over the wood and the lake. There is free wireless internet in the whole of the hotel and also free parking right outside the hotel. After a visit to the restaurant you can relax with a drink at the fireplace or go for an evening walk at the lake. The hotel is situated only a few hundred metres from the cosy centre of Skanderborg with fine shopping possibilities. In the surroundings there are fine possibilities of angling - sailing - swimming - golfing and playing tennis. By car Aarhus is only half an hour away. When the hotel opened in 1961 a cup of coffee cost three Danish kroner and quickly it became a popular place to visit and hold parties and celebrations. Hotel Skanderborghus became a popular place to hold parties and also meetings and conferences. At the same time a large number of guests visited the hotel in order to spend a weekend near Skanderborg Lake. In 2010 Per - Ulla and Carsten Bach took over Hotel Skanderborghus. They already run Hoerning Kro and Hotel. Now they are very pleased that they are also able to receive guests and cater for parties at the lake and the wood in Skanderborg. At the same time they aim at making the hotel the preferred restaurant in Skanderborg. The menu is based on good Danish food but the chef is also inspired by foreign food - right from roasted herrings and old-fashioned omelettes for lunch and a Mediterranean platter - a good steak and a schnitzel for dinner. The restaurant of the hotel is intimate and has a lovely view over Skanderborg Lake. Today Hotel Skanderborghus is also a professional course and conference hotel with room for 5 to 120 persons and all modern audio-visual equipment including wireless internet. The hotel has a conference room with a stage and microphone equipment with room for a maximum of 450 persons.
