Residence Il Casale offers guests a rare opportunity to sample the lifestyle and opulence of the Renaissance nobility in eastern Tuscany. This is a marvellously well-preserved sixteenth century structure which looks out towards the towers and churches that pierce the Cortona skyline. The ten vacation apartments are dominated by the original building with its stone tower, wide balcony and external staircase. The setting is private and tranquil, with a wealth of flowering plants in the beautifully-kept garden and a large lawn with tables and chairs for al fresco dining. The garden boasts a large, state-of-the-art swimming pool (16x8m) which is equipped with comfortable sunbeds, deckchairs, umbrellas and a shower everything you need to enjoy a relaxing day basking and sunbathing, and enjoying the panoramic view of Cortona. The ten apartments, which sleep either four or two guests, are tastefully and elegantly decorated; with ancient terracotta floor and ceiling tiles, and traditional fittings and furnishings dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. The overall effect is warm and welcoming a timeless retreat where you can get away from the stresses of the 21st century. Each apartment has a spacious living room with a fully equipped cooking area (electric oven, hob, fridge, twin sink) and a bathroom with shower. How to get:
By car* when coming from Milano, Rome or Florence on the Autostrada del Sole, exit at the Valdichiana exit and take the superstrada toward Perugia. After a few kilometers, take the Cortona exit which brings you in the vicinity of the Abbacy of Farneta. *The abbacy is an historically significant sight to visit both for its 9th century crypt and for its museum of archeology and paleontology.* Continue through the valley, following the signs for Cortona until you arive at Camucia. At Camucia take the State Road 71 in the direction of Arezzo. Once past Sodo *with its Etruscan tombs*, you will come upon a view of Residence IL Casale on the right. The open air swimming pool open from mid May to mid September and subject to the weather conditions. our guests can make use of our WIRELESS connection but only in the case of Residence Il Casale (with additional fee). If they have their own laptop they have just to ask the reception for the connection, in case they do not have it we provide a laptop, which is available exclusively for the guests, so that they can connect in every area of the Residence.
