Take the light-rail right into downtown and explore all the culture, entertainment, and excitement that San Jose has to offer. It is one of the country's fastest growing cities and is becoming an increasingly attractive tourist destination with lots to do and see.
Outside the city are entertaining attractions to visit that can't be found anywhere else and are well worth getting a car to go see. For instance, you can go to the San Jose flea market, which is said to be the largest in the world, covering 120 acres. You can also visit the Winchester Mystery House, famous for crooked doors, maze-like rooms, and stairs leading to nowhere. Go to Guadalupe Park to see the world's largest Monopoly board. Or visit Hakone Gardens, one of the few completely authentic Japanese gardens in the United States. For a clear view of the stars, check out the Lick Observatory. If you want to visit some great museums, try the Tech Museum, the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum, and La Galeria in the Mexican Heritage Plaza.
San Jose is located in a great area, right near the water in sunny California. It is the gateway to the Valley, being close to Santa Cruz and Monterey. There are lots of things to do in the area and in the surrounding area, making it a great place to visit.
