This World Heritage site dates back from the IV century/ brimming with artwork and architecture has been under the influence of the most profound eras. The Old city of Kotor is well preserved urbanisation/tipical of the Middle Ages/built between the 12th and the 14th century. Through the entire city the buildings are criss-crossed with narrow streets and squares. One of these squares contains the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon -Sveti Tripun-/ a monument of Roman culture and one of the most recognizable symbols of the city. The Church of Saint Luke -Sveti Luka- from the 13th century/ Church of Saint Ana -Sveta Ana- from the 12th century/ Church of Saint Mary -Sveta Marija- from the 13th century/ Church of the Healing Mother of God -Gospe od Zdravlja- from the 15th century/ the Princes Palace from the 17th century and the Napoleons Theatre from the 19th century are all treasures that are part of the rich heritage of Kotor. How to get:
South - via Bar Exiting from Bar/you should drive through and pass by several smaller towns in the following order:Sutomore/Canj/Buljarica/Petrovac/Sv.Stefan/Becici/Budva-remain on main road. On a crossroad - right turn to Kotor/ driving through the tunel/continue driving straight/ pass the first traffic lights/ at the roundabout turn right and you will then reach the Old Town of Kotor and its main gate. North via Podgorica From Podgorica head towards the main road and then turn left/ you should notice a road sign -Petrovac- continue driving straight/ ramaining on the main road/ after you pass Virpazar you will reach a crossroad and a sign for the tunel Sozina - turn left there drive through the tunel/ paytoll charge for usage 2/50EUR per car. The tunel will lead you to the town of Sutomore/ when you reach the crossroad for Bar/ Petrovac turn left and the drive straight again ramaining on the main road.you should drive through and pass by several smaller towns in the following order:Sutomore/Canj/Buljarica/Petrovac/Sv.Stefan/Becici/Budva-remain on main road. On a crossroad - right turn to Kotor/ driving through the tunel/continue driving straight/ pass the first traffic lights/ at the roundabout turn right and you will then reach the Old Town of Kotor and its main gate. East via Dubrovnik As you exit from Dubrovnik/drive straight until the Croatian borderline control after which you will reach the Montenegrin borderline control.Then enter the first town Igalo/ ramain on the main road/ pass by Herceg-Novi/ through Bijela and then you will reach the Ferry crossing point which shall take you on the other side of the bay -pay per car 4EUR-. As soon as you cross make a right turn heading towards the town of Tivat/ drive through the town again remaining on the main road/ as soon as you pass the Tivat airport you will reach the crossroad where you should turn left in the direction of Kotor. After driving through the tunel you will reach Kotor/ pass the first traffic lights and continue driving up to the roundabout where you should turn right after which you should be in front of the old town of Kotor and its main gate.
