This beautiful country house hotel in Newton Stewart is steeped in history, originally the home of the Heron family who counted Robert Burns amongst their friends. Burns was often a visitor to Kirroughtree House and he was know to sit at the staircase and recite his poems to the family. Located close to Galloway Forest Park, this elegant house is a haven of calm and tranquility both inside and out. Our friendly staff will be there to welcome you personally to the hotel and show you to your room. Each of our 17 bedrooms are indiviual and traditionally decorated, from generous standard rooms through to larger deluxe rooms, all are spaciaous with their own sitting areas. Complimentary fresh fruit and sherry, as well as tea and coffee are waiting for you on arrival. Bedrooms are very well equipped, all are ensuite with luxurious toiletries and lovely fluffy bathrobes and towels. Most bedrooms enjoy panoramic views over the grounds and ancient forest down to the River Cree which heads towards Wigtown Bay.
