Basilica of St. John
The church of St John was changed into a marvelous basilica during the region of Emperor Justinian.It is believed that the evangelist St. John had spent his last years in the region around Ephesus and buried in the southern slope of Ayosolug Hill.
Basmane Railway Station
The station was built in 1876 by the Smyrna Cassaba Railway. The station was taken over by TCDD 1934. Passenger service was closed to the station in 2006 but opened again in 2009.The station is currently the only operating rail terminal in Izmir.
