The Southern in Great Yarmouth is ideally located, just a stroll from the seafront, Wellington Pier, Leisure Centre, Pleasure Beach and new Outer Harbour. The property was once a merchants house and is situated in its own grounds and retains some of the richness of the original owners lifestyle with a grand staircase and sea view at the front. Away from the hustle and bustle of the seafront and yet just a stroll away from all the attractions and amenities. The proprietors, Sally and Tony are experienced hoteliers, and carried out a complete refurbishment when they purchased the property 7 years ago. High standards are maintained with continual updating of the decor. The Southern has full central heating and we are open year round with free wireless in all rooms. We are 4 star graded and are pleased to announce that we have been awarded 5 star under the new environmental health Food Safety Star Award scheme. This assures you of high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and attention to detail whether you are on holiday or business. The sunny licensed bar lounge area has entertainment in the high season for customers enjoyment. Locally sourced, home cooked food is served in the comfortable dining rooms with waitress service. Our tariff is for Bed and Breakfast. Evening meal is optional. All the bedrooms have en suite shower facilities and are refurbished to a high standard with guests comfort in mind. Each bedroom has remote control TV, clock radio and complementary tea and coffee making facilities. Great Yarmouth is well known for its maritime heritage as our museums will show. The city of Norwich and the Norfolk Broads are just a short ride away. As a family run accommodation we do not accept single sex groups or stag or hen parties.
