A reflection of five centuries of art and culture, Residenza del Moro is an intimate hideaway set in the main rooms of a meticulously restored palazzo, dating back to the 16th century. The ambience here is one of a private palazzo. A beautiful 17th century staircase leads to a wealth of 18th century frescoes, beautiful stucco work and antique furniture that span the centuries. Just 11 individually decorated suites with magnificent period features are enhanced by silk fabrics, brocades and works of modern art by prominent contemporary artists.
The Duomo is close by but to avoid the crowds cross the river to the beautiful Boboli Gardens, behind the Pitti Palace. Then head to San Miniato al Monte, one of the finest Romanesque churches in Tuscany with superb views over Florence.
