Our Restaurant DIE INSEL is well known since 1952 in Bonn-Bad Godesberg and one of the main meeting places during the day. The pastry shop offers traditional pastry as -Schwarzwaelder Kirschtorte/ Sachertorte etc- The former Name Cafe Kranzler had to be given back at the time when Kempinski Hotels sold it to the now owning Family. Our restaurant offers 99 indoor seats and 60 seats on the boulevard-terrace in the middle of the Bad Godesberg pedestrian area. International/ German and seasonal food -Asparagus- is offered in excellent quality.

Due to the central location in the heart of the city THE INSEL Hotel is a perfect location to explore the surrounding aerea. The Nature Park SIEBENGEBIRGE with the Drachenfels/ Oelberg etc. is within easy reach. You can even walk there starting direct form the hotel with a nice walk through Germany's biggest Villa-area. Then alongside the rine-river banks and cross the rine directly to the foot of the Drachenfels-Mountain. -cable car to the top- We can provide a lunch pack for your hike -calculate 90 minutes-. Most comfort rooms offer a nice view to the Godesburg Castle that can be reached in 10 minutes walk. An indoor swimming-pool is only 300 meters away from the hotel. The next outdoor pool is in Ruengsdorf and can be reached within 10 minutes. The Ahr Wine Valley can be reached in about 30 minutes and offers wonderful hikes and nice wine-cellars to visit. 2 Mountain-Bikes and 2 trekking bikes can be rented at the hotel directly -order with early notice-.
