Largest wellness/Spa in Zadar with 6000 sqm/ 64500 sqft of wellness area. Exceptional location, on the tip of the Punta Skala peninsula, offers fantastic panoramic view of the Adriatic Sea and local islands, only 15 km/ 9.5 miles from Zadar city center. The hotel features a striking modern architecture, spacious lobbies, restaurants and bars and is surrounded by a large park. The sea shore is only steps away. Pine trees are offering shade and hammocks for relaxation. In front of the hotel the beach consists of a mix of pebbles and rocks that allow for privacy. At Punta Skala, we have worked together with international experts to implement a complex system that will minimize our ecological footprint in the long run. A water treatment plant supplies us with the water needed for daily use on the holiday peninsula and generates energy for heating and cooling. In addition, a completely organic purification system helps us to preserve the environment. The sustainable water treatment plant at Punta Skala consists of a water pump which pumps seawater out of the sea and into the plant at a constant temperature. Energy generation, where the seawater is used for cooling (in the summer) and heating (in the winter) in the hotels and the apartment complex. This reduces the need for fossil fuels. A desalination system where part of the seawater is desalinated using an osmosis system and can be used as drinking water while the remaining water is diverted back into the sea. Also a purification system that cleanses wastewater, using a completely organic purification system and is stored with the collected rain water and the greywater from the swimming pools. The impotable water is then used for flushing toilets and for watering the gardens.
