Culloden House Hotel

Culloden House dates back to 1788 and sits on the original site of Culloden Castle which played host to Bonnie Prince Charlie at the Battle of Culloden. This award winning 28 bedroomed Country House hotel is set in 40 acres of private grounds and was refurbished in 2006. Hospitality and service are the mainstay of this property and in 2006 Conde Nast Traveler magazine rated Culloden House as the Top Hotel in Scotland along with naming the property in its prestigious Gold List. The cuisine is of the highest level and the kitchen team hold many awards including Top 60 UK restaurants from The Guardian newspaper. The sweeping staircase up to the front door is crowned with a coat of arms and leads you past reception into the impressive hall. The interior design and decoration was commissioned from the famous Adam family of architects and features their signature pillars - elaborate ceiling cornicing - chandeliers and marble fireplaces. The classic Drawing Room - dressed in soft pastel shades with huge armchairs and sofas in front of a roaring fire - is an imposing and comfortable place in which to sit at any time of the day or for drinks before dinner.
