Rimini Not only beach, the historical centre of Rimini should be visited as well. And the small ancient towns which surround the city are rich of history and glory. Shopping: All towns have once a week a market. On each pedestrian precinct you might find shops, in which particular stuff is sold. San Marino, the land of freedom, has a beautiful historical centre and a very different fiscal system, which prices are lower than in Italy. Montegridolfo The territory of Rimini is very rich in tradition and history. Today are these traditions expressed by our handicrafts. The rust printing is characteristic for the south of the region. Gradara The fortress of Gradara is situated on a hill (about 142 mt) between Marche and Romagna, in a strategic and dominant position. This town is situated about 25 km from Rimini, 13 Km from Pesaro and 3Km from the motorway. Each visitor goes back into the past: you only need to go through the drawbridge. The rooms remember the richness of the families which have controlled the territory: Malatesta, Sforza and Della Rovere. SanLeo The inhabitants have a special way to look at its tradition, history and culture. The cuisine was first used by farmers and fishermen, who were able to safe the simplicity of cooking. Grilled fish, fish soup, tagliatelle, tagliolini, tortellini, ravioli belong to this tradition. The Piadina took place of the bread. Piadina is very good with sliced ham and cheese. And what about drinking? Obviously wine. Our red wine Sangiovese is perfect with meat, cheese and sliced ham; Trebbiano (a white wine) is perfect with pasta. Our Cagnina is very good with our Ciambella (a typical cake) or chestnut. Sanmarino Its history started in 301 A.C., when the Saint Marino left Damlatia and arrived to the mountain Titano. He found a small community of Christians. It is clear that the place was inhabited since the prehistory. However, historical evidences arrive from the Middle Age when the Cenobio, church and a castle were built. This confirms that an organised community had to exist in the past.
