Set in the mountains overlooking the Aegean coast, this village is surrounded by olive groves, peach orchards and vineyards. Only 8 kms far from the archaeological remains of Ephesus, Sirince was established in the 5th century A. D. According to some historical sources, Sirince was home to the Virgin Mary during her last days. Today, Sirince is one of the few places in Turkey to have preserved its 19th century character intact.
Sirince is an ex-greek village where visitors who want to get away from the beaten tourist path can enjoy an authentic village atmosphere, waking to the sounds of the local fauna and participating in traditional wedding festivities.
