Cacapon Resort State Park offers 6,000 acres of exciting outdoor activities and accommodations in West Virginias eastern panhandle. The Cacapon Lodge has 48 modern lodge rooms in a unique vintage hotel setting, offering a conference center, dining room, game room and gift shop. The great room with fireplace and the large veranda with rockers looking over the golf course allow guests at Cacapon plenty of space to relax and enjoy the surroundings and hospitality. Cacapon offers 13 fully-equipped rental cottages complete with cable TV, telephone, heat and air conditioning, microwave and fireplace. These year-round units vary in size from two to four bedrooms. Additionally, there are 12 seasonal cabins and 6 seasonal bungalows that offer overnight stays for up to 12 people. Cacapon also offers the very unique and nostalgic Old Inn which was constructed in 1937 by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The Old Inn has 12 bedrooms and a kitchen to accommodate up to 32 people for the perfect small family or group get-away. The Robert Trent Jones, Sr. championship golf course makes prime use of the rolling foothills at the base of the Cacapon mountain ridge and has been rated as one of the 130 best-designed courses in the United States. Cacapon Resorts newest outdoor sport activity is the wabble clay shooting range trap shooting, one of the three major forms of competitive clay pigeon shooting shotgun shooting at clay targets. Over 20 miles of trails abound for the hiker visiting the park. From a leisure walker to an avid hiker, Cacapon has a trail to suit you. Horseback riding on well-mannered horses and experienced guides allow even the beginner to enjoy mother nature. Each ride is accompanied by an experienced guide that will lead you through the bridle trails of Cacapon. Pony rides are available for those a little less experienced. A nature center, naturalist activities, swimming beach, paddle boats and fishing are also available on the park.
