Sperlonga is a renowned tourist resort that overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea in one of the most scenic stretches of the Riviera of Ulysses, namely the territory that extends from the Circeo promontory to Gaeta. The historical centre, which opens onto the sea and splits this wonderful coastal region into the eastwards and the westwards sections, appears as a fascinating tangle of houses crossed by long stairways, flights of small arches in between narrow alleys, and enchanting panoramic views of the sky and the sea. The other section of the beach - eastward-bound and full of atmosphere - hosts the archaeological site connected with the remains of the Roman site known as Emperor Tiberius' Villa and the nearby homonym grotto (whose finds are displayed in the adjacent National Archaeological Museum). This section also includes the Blue Oasis of Tiberius' Villa. Another point of attraction of Sperlonga is represented by the two lakes, the Lungo Lake and the St. Puoto Lake, where it is possible to practice water skiing. During each of the past six years the sea of Sperlonga has been given the award of the 'European Blue Flag', a recognition enhanced by a second one, the title of 'The Most Beautiful Suburb of Italy'.

INDICATION: By Car: Sperlonga is situated at 116 km from Rome and 114 Km from Naples. From Rome take Pontina up to Terracina and then direction Sperlonga or take to Motor road, direction Terracina and then Sperlonga. From Naples take the Tangenziale up to Mondragone, direction Formia, Gaeta, Sperlonga. By motor road (A1) exit Cassino direction Formia, Gaeta and then follow signal to Sperlonga. By train: ( Rome-Naples railway ) get off at the station of Fondi - Sperlonga, from where a service of public transport will take you to Sperlonga. (11 km)
