A brief historical review The restaurant known as Zum goldenen Ochsen was located in a building situated at Hauptplatz 25 from the 15th century. At the time of the big town fire in 1873/ which destroyed most of the town center and/ with it/ the restaurant Zum goldenen Ochsen/ Rudolf Riegler and his wife Amalie managed the restaurant as an inn as well as running a farm. Following her husbands death/ Amalie married Friedrich Engelmayer from Parisdorf/ Weinviertel. This marriage produced two daughters/ Valerie and Amalie. In 1925/ Amalie and her husband Robert Eder took over the running of the restaurant/ which was duly enlarged and modernised.
