Area Attractions
The main attraction is the Arenal volcano. Lava flows can be seen from observatory points at Los Lagos. During a clear night you can see the red heat lava flows, one of the most sublime and unforgettable nature shows. The volcano itself erupted in 1968. Its nocturnal fireworks make it one of the best shows.

How to get:
From San Jose airport /SJO / drive north west towards Heridia. Then after Heridia continue north west towards San Miguel. At Miguel, you will turn left and continue north west towards aguas Zarcas and then a left turn continuing west and slightly south towards Ciudad Quesada. From Ciudad Quesada, you journey you go right and north west towards florencia and continuing north west on to el Tanque. From here it is due west and a short drive to Fortuna de San Carlos. Los Lagos is located 6 km or 4 miles west of Fortuna on the road to the volcano.

Canopy tours - swing through the forest suspended on steel cables. Los Lagos has one of the largest setups with 7 extension cables and 8 platforms with a path to experience the forest in its most natural state. You can be sure it will be an exhililarating experience. Horse Back tours around volcano and surrounding area. Is 3 hours long.
