The 28-acre National Historic Landmark District and State Historic Park located along the beautiful Sacramento River in Old Sacramento provides sufficient entertainment for an entire weeklong trip. There are many historical sites and points of interest here, as well as more than 100 shops and boutiques. Other exceptional shopping areas include the Downtown Plaza and K Street Mall. You will find street entertainers and restaurants in all of these historic quarters and retail districts, as well as a vibrant nightlife.For more of the citys culture, make sure to visit the State Indian Museum and Railroad Museum. The California Museum for History, Women, and the Arts offers a unique perspective into the states history, and the Crocker Art Museum is the oldest art museum west of the Mississippi. Theater venues are abundant in Sacramento as well, including the Community Center Theatre and Memorial Auditorium, both of which are part of the Sacramento Convention Center Complex.
