A small lake crosses over the village which makes its way to the sea. The beach extends to a distance of 500 metres, whereas prior to entering the entrance of the village, a beach with golden- yellow sand and turquoise water can be found. Kalives is the ideal place to spend relaxing, carefree moments while on holiday, enjoying the hearby sea. It is also worth visiting the surrounding villages like Almirida and Plaka. You can also travel to these picturesque places using KTEL's bus services which offer outbound travel schedules or by car, taking the route for Rethymno with a detour towards Kalives.
