Blue Moon Hotel

Blue Moon Hotel is a hotel for the arts and is a beloved neighborhood icon. The hotel, an outstanding architectural structure, is located on a museum block. Centered amidst Chinatown, Little Italy, East Village, Soho, Tribeca, and Financial District. Once occupied by pushcart vendors, it is now populated by eclectic shops and a myriad of bars, restaurants, and lounges. Blue Moon Hotel is a luxury hotel in a renovated tenement whose soul has been preserved and glorified. In a painterly approach, neither plotted nor planned, artist developer Settenbrino used a combination of inspiration and instinct to create settings for the original details. Hundreds of artifacts, imported glass, marble, granite, and faux finishes work in unison to lend a new breadth and depth not seen in any of the contemporary hotels. The Blue Moon Hotel boasts oversized rooms, lavish bathrooms with deep tubs, and high ceilings. Stretch out in beautifully appointed guest rooms, most with balconies, some with spectacular views and hydromassage. Rooms are named after legends and feature memorabilia, custom fabrics, flat screen television, dvd player, ipod dock, table and chairs, 4.5 mini bar, closet, safe, hairdryer, free wifi, state of the art air conditioning with thermostat, complimentary continental breakfast, dvd library, a glass of wine, and gym pass. The hotel is adorned with themed collages gleaned from periodicals and effects found in the building. Depression era green stamps create the background. Newspaper headlines and clippings from magazines, class pictures, church hymns, cigar bands and cigarette cases are methodically laid out for theme and effect. A massive collection of cards found belonging to an anonymous merchant dating 1895 - 1912, delight and entertain with playful images and subtly articulate wholesome charisma.
