Хельсинки был основан в 1550 году королем Густавом Васой, а столицей стал в 1812. Сегодня Хельсинки современный европейский город с высоким уровнем жизни. Основные достопримечательности расположены в центре, как и лучшие отели Хельсинки. Одним из наиболее впечатляющих архитектурных строений является православный Успенский Собор. Он возвышается над соседними зданиями и прекрасно виден с моря. Центральными площадями города считаются Сенатская и Рыночная.
